Recent improvements
Experience and Resource cards use two-column sharing actions on phones, with a compact print icon and accessible print label.
Opening Resource details replaces the shortened preview with the full description, and the homepage search shortcut reads more clearly.
Prevents the mobile menu from shifting offscreen when opened after scrolling and gives native Share actions the same clear button styling as Copy link and Print.
More Ideas provide a full-text control when their phone preview may be clipped. Expanded Experiences replace the preview with full text and details, avoiding repeated paragraphs.
Places Idea card actions in two columns on phones, makes printing a compact labeled icon, and prevents related-content type labels from splitting.
Stacks action buttons beneath the newest Ideas and Experiences headings on phones so neither button is squeezed or clipped.
Homepage action buttons use the logo blue, and the desktop Search filter panel aligns within the page.
Shorter page headers, clearer homepage paths, roomier toolbar controls, visible search input, and more compact public content. The colors coordinate with the site logo.
Consolidates repeated page styling and shared public controls into reusable assets while preserving the existing navigation, forms, moderation, and privacy behavior.
Adds an installable web app icon, phone installation help, direct submission links, and reusable QR codes for Ideas, Experiences, Resources, and the homepage.
The Resource submission modal opens correctly, and form errors remain visible on the review step. Experience attachments are checked before sending, and the review shows optional background and attachment names so members can verify what they entered.
Members can review their Idea, Experience, or Resource details before sending them for moderation. The receipt identifies the submission and shows the pending review path. Approved items have a native Share action where supported, and single-item prints include the public source link.
New Ideas, Experiences, and Resources use a shared topic list with up to three optional broad tags. Approved items can link to related approved content across all three sections. Older posts remain available with their original categories.

Resources, Ideas, Experiences, Search, and key administrator lists now use a shared toolbar pattern: Search/Filters, Information/Help, primary action, and Print. Toolbar panels are anchored to their controls, only one opens at a time, desktop controls wrap safely, and mobile controls stack full width.
Members with no submissions now get direct paths to share an Idea, Past Experience, or Resource. Filtered empty views now include a one-click way to return to all submissions.
The homepage now includes a direct path to search all approved community content, and Search provides clear browse options when visitors have not entered a query or when no approved results match.
Recent public release entries now show their actual version numbers from v173 through v181, and the release-freshness date now matches the current release metadata.
Member submission cards now show a clearer action state, bring moderator feedback forward when an item needs attention, emphasize the primary action, and prioritize feedback-bearing items in the attention view.
Contribution forms now emphasize required information first. Optional moderator identity, experience resolution history, attachments, and review tips are grouped into expandable sections, while privacy defaults remain visible and easier to understand.
Signed-out visitors now see a contextual sign-in message explaining whether they were trying to share an idea, experience, or resource. That intent is preserved through authentication and resumes the matching submission flow after sign-in.
The homepage now shows compact previews of the newest Ideas and Experiences instead of repeating full browse-page behavior. Duplicate homepage Idea filters were removed, full-page browse links are clearer, and each preview links directly to the matching item on its dedicated page.
Idea cards now show a compact preview with support/comment context and an optional Read full idea control for longer submissions. Experience cards surface the suggested improvement first and place the full narrative and resolution details behind a View full experience control.
Ideas now offers visible Newest, Most supported, and Most discussed shortcuts. Experiences adds All, Youth perspectives, and Adult perspectives quick views with a live result count. Resource quick-view guidance is clearer while the full filter controls remain available.
The administrator workspace is more compact and easier to scan. Maintenance items are ordered by severity, overdue or higher-risk health signals receive stronger visual emphasis, and mobile spacing is reduced while preserving all existing tools.
Admin tool jumps now include a clear return path to the originating Maintenance & Health view. The last admin section and Resource Library filters are also preserved during the browser session so routine maintenance work is easier to resume.
The administrator overview now points to one Maintenance & Health destination instead of running a second overlapping Attention Needed query grid. Existing moderation, reports, resource maintenance, notification, backup/export, and cleanup tools remain available.
Submission intent now carries through sign-in, homepage submissions use persistent confirmation messaging, and My Submissions includes clear paths to contribute again.
Activity Log filters persist during the session, quick audit views highlight important records and failures, and administrators can move directly between audit entries and the related admin records.
The obsolete hidden administrator interface was removed from the public homepage, leaving the dedicated Admin Dashboard as the staff workspace. Moderation search, status, content-type, sorting, date, and attention filters now remain selected during the administrator’s browser session.
Ideas, Experiences, Resources, About, Guidelines, and Search now include consistent breadcrumbs and a compact explanation of what visitors can do or find on each page. Duplicate primary headings were also simplified.
Compact quick views now stay visible above the Resource Library, making common source and status choices faster to reach. Full search, category, source, year, status, and sorting controls remain available under Search & filters.
Share an Idea, Read Experiences, and Find Resources now use the same prominent high-contrast button style with larger full-width targets across desktop and mobile.
The homepage now opens with a compact introduction and three clear actions, followed by the newest Ideas and Experiences, a short explanation of participation, and the independence statement near the bottom.
The main navigation now uses the literal destinations Home, Ideas, Experiences, Resources, and About. Guidelines and Search are grouped under More, while signed-in User and staff Admin controls remain on the right.
Admin menu links now scroll directly to the selected administrator panel and realign after the overview finishes loading, avoiding the extra manual scroll from the top of the Admin Dashboard.
Admin menu links now restore their requested section immediately after staff-role verification, including when opening the Admin page from another site page, instead of remaining at the top of the staff workspace.
Primary navigation now uses clearer Ideas, Experiences, and Guidelines labels, dedicated pages show the visitor’s current location, the homepage introduction is more compact, and its two-item Idea preview no longer displays unnecessary filter controls.
Pending cleanup now requires a search and individual review, approved content is excluded from the tool, rejected Ideas reliably reopen as new editable submissions, and administrator identity indicators continue to distinguish anonymous from public-name content.
Backup & Export now shows record counts, scope and file-reference coverage before export, while JSON/CSV backup activity records include dataset counts for later verification.
My Submissions now shows the current review phase more clearly and expands the submission timeline while avoiding unsupported moderator decision dates.
Fixed saved Resource link-check results not reappearing after refresh when the Resource Library loaded before administrator role restoration completed.
The Resource Library now explains source badges more clearly, restores previous administrator link-check results from the Activity Log, and supports one-click link checking on individual approved resources.
The Admin Dashboard now surfaces aging moderation items, open reports, recent notification failures, and Resource Library maintenance signals with direct links to the relevant review tools.
Moderators can now quickly view items waiting 3+ or 7+ days, content tied to open reports, and items skipped during the current review session. One-at-a-Time review also includes a session-only Skip for now action that does not change submission status.
Idea, Past Experience, and Resource forms now save selected non-sensitive draft fields in the signed-in member’s browser and restore them if the form is reopened before submission.
Dynamic sign-in, password recovery/reset, and Resource submission messages now use consistent live-region semantics so status changes are announced to assistive technology.
Tab and Shift+Tab now stay inside an open modal until it is closed, completing the keyboard behavior added in v145.
Resource dialogs now have explicit accessible names, Escape closes open dialogs, and keyboard focus returns to the control that opened a dialog.
Added accessible names to key Ideas and My Submissions filters and expanded release checks for skip links, main-content targets, and duplicate static IDs.
Fixed the Resource skip link and About-page Community link, and added automated checks for internal files, static anchors, and supported JavaScript hash routes.
Release checks now validate package, manifest, footer, and Site Updates release metadata together, and a release sync script updates those values from one metadata file.
The Public Site Status current-release card now matches the release shown at the top of this page and includes a synchronization safeguard for future releases.
Historical release labels on the Site Updates page were repaired, duplicate release-history entries were removed, and current release metadata was standardized.
Public-facing pages now use more consistent card radii, button styling, form controls, section spacing, hover states, filter panels, and mobile presentation.
Mobile moderation cards no longer reserve desktop-sized vertical flex space around action buttons.
Mobile moderation cards now show only Approve/Reject during normal review and only Approve & Next/Reject & Next during One-at-a-Time review.
Approve/Reject and Approve & Next/Reject & Next controls now stay inside moderation cards and wrap cleanly instead of extending beyond the desktop viewport.
Submit a New Version now restores the rejected submission’s editable content for Ideas, Comments, Past Experiences, and Resources before the member revises and resubmits it.
Account and My Submissions now provide clearer member shortcuts, at-a-glance account status, submission overview views, needs-attention guidance, and more compact submission cards.
Moderator content management now includes quick status views, clearer visible/hidden state labels, compact history cards, direct public and related-content links, and richer Resource maintenance context.
The site header now remains sticky more reliably across desktop and mobile, and the signed-in mobile menu no longer shows the Sign In button alongside User and Admin.
The dedicated staff workspace now has a persistent current-section indicator, sticky administrator navigation, clearer active tabs, simplified quick actions, tighter spacing, and section-aware URLs.
Public navigation on the Admin Dashboard now routes back to the correct site pages, and each Admin menu destination opens its intended dashboard section instead of leaving the moderator section visible.
Administrator and moderator navigation now opens a dedicated staff workspace instead of jumping below the public homepage, making staff tools faster and easier to reach.
A floating Back to Top control now appears on mobile after scrolling down longer pages, with reduced-motion support and safe-area positioning.
Touch targets, modal sizing, keyboard focus, scrollable tables, long-content wrapping, and accessibility markup were reviewed and refined across the site.
The Public Site Status card now uses the page’s active Supabase client, so it resolves from “Checking…” to the current notice state.
The Site Updates page now shows current release information, active public-notice state, moderation/privacy safeguards, independence status, and corrected release labels for recent updates.
User rows are now denser and easier to scan, with View/Suspend/Delete kept together on one line where space allows. View uses the site blue treatment, Suspend/Restore uses a softer coordinated treatment, and Delete remains red.
The main User Accounts administration screen now has collapsible overview metrics and a collapsible account-management section, plus a quick Show/Hide Filters control to reduce vertical scrolling.
Administrator user records now use a compact summary header and collapsible sections for account details, submissions, reports, moderation history, notes, account activity, and submission timeline.
Account email settings now show a live summary, collapsible member/staff preferences, staff enable-all/disable-all controls, last-change timing, and an administrator snapshot of recent member-email delivery health.
Idea and Past Experience forms now provide clearer guidance, category explanations, character counts, privacy reminders, and an optional pre-submission preview without changing the moderation workflow.
One-at-a-time review now shows queue position, item type, waiting age, the next item preview, and decision-and-continue actions while preserving individual moderation decisions.
Large administrator sections can now be expanded or hidden, with mobile-friendly defaults and session-level state memory to reduce vertical scrolling.
System Health now includes an administrator attention list for moderation backlog, reports, resources, notification failures, backups, and content cleanup, with direct shortcuts to the relevant tools.
Every Idea now shows its approved public comment count, including “0 comments” before a discussion exists.
Idea discussions are now easier to scan with collapsed threads, comment sorting, clearer counts, per-browser new-comment indicators, and direct deep-link support.
Major public, member, moderator, and administrator filter sections can now be expanded or hidden. They default closed on mobile, open on larger screens, and remember the choice for the browser session.
The Resource Library filter and quick-view area can now be expanded or hidden. It defaults closed on mobile, open on larger screens, and remembers the visitor’s choice for the browser session.
The Resource Library now includes quick filters for Official Ohio, Stark County, Current, Historical, and Featured resources, plus clearer source/status distinctions.
Administrators can now filter Content Cleanup to pending submissions, with explicit pending warnings and the same reason, confirmation, audit, and permanent-delete safeguards.
The Content cleanup Activity Log filter now correctly limits results to cleanup deletion, failure, and storage-cleanup events.
Cleanup deletion no longer fails from ambiguous database parameter names. Failed cleanup attempts now show the database error and are recorded in the Activity Log when possible.
Cleanup selection checkboxes no longer inherit the site-wide full-width input rule, so rejected/test item titles, status, age, and content details remain visible.
Administrators can review and permanently remove rejected submissions or deliberately selected test content with typed confirmation, audit logging, and uploaded-file cleanup.
My Submissions now shows counts by submission type, pending-review age, a clear status path, notification settings at a glance, and direct links to published submissions and comment discussions.
The homepage now includes clearer first-visit guidance, Start Here paths, a simple How It Works explanation, and more direct calls to Ideas, Past Experiences, Resources, About, and Community Guidelines.
Page titles, canonical URLs, descriptions, social metadata, robots directives, and sitemap coverage were standardized across the public website.
All moderation summary cards now remain white when unselected. Only the currently selected summary card is dark blue with white text.
The default Total needing review card now keeps its dark selected style and readable white text instead of becoming nearly white when active.
The moderation queue can now be sorted by recommended priority, oldest, newest, or content type. Open reports and older pending submissions are highlighted for faster review.
Members are warned when a new Idea resembles an existing published Idea, and moderators receive a duplicate warning when reviewing similar pending submissions.
Search now covers approved Ideas, Comments, Past Experiences, and Resources with content-type filters, relevance sorting, and shareable search URLs.
Moderators can switch to a one-at-a-time review view with Previous and Next controls, while keeping all existing approval, rejection, privacy, editing, report, and note tools available.
Members can choose to receive an email when a moderator approves a new comment on one of their published ideas. Self-comments do not trigger an email.
Administrators can publish a temporary site-wide information, maintenance, or important notice with optional timing and a link.
Resource submissions now warn when a website or matching title already exists, and moderators see possible duplicate warnings before approving a pending resource.
Long moderation submissions, website links, and form controls were updated to fit phone screens without cutting off Approve or Reject actions.
The mobile header was changed to a compact Menu layout and older page-specific styles were prevented from forcing the menu open.
Administrator navigation gained keyboard support, clearer labels, larger touch targets, mobile section controls, and improved narrow-screen layouts.
Moderators can clearly see whether approved content is public under a username or anonymously, and privacy override activity is easier to find in the Admin Activity Log.
Moderators and administrators can publish a submission anonymously when a requested public username may reveal personal information. Overrides require a reason and are logged.
My Submissions gained clearer review-status guidance, sorting, status filters, public-name controls, email-preference visibility, and improved rejected-submission resubmission flow.
The administrator analytics CSV export was corrected and tied into the existing verified download system and activity logging.
Moderators gained private staff notes, report history, clearer member-facing moderation reasons, and improved context when reviewing submissions.
Transparency commitments
Anonymous participation remains available, and public identity choices are separated from private moderator information.
Member-facing reasons and private staff notes are kept separate so moderation decisions are easier to understand and audit.
Important administrator and moderator actions are recorded in the Admin Activity Log when supported by the site workflow.
Meaningful site changes that affect participation or safeguards will be summarized here rather than remaining invisible to the community.
What this page does not publish
For privacy and security, this page does not publish private moderator notes, member email addresses, account details, security configuration, internal diagnostic information, or personal information submitted privately to moderators.
Independent community project
Better Stark Jr Fair remains an independent community project and is not an official website of any county fair, fair board, 4-H program, FFA chapter, extension office, or government agency.
